From Death to Life

In this episode we’re going to take a look at how to put away those things that don’t serve our higher good and receive greater, even “higher” things. There are rich examples in both nature and in the metaphysical realm that cultivate transformation and we can learn from them. As always, our conversation will be rogueish, and we’ll weave in our core values of seeking wisdom, applying  the “why’s” and, as always, we’ll share a mystic MacNugget. Once again, “It’s strap in time…”

“Namaste, all of you beautifully, exotic cocktails…

Manifesto points to consider:

  • Seek clarity over certainty.
  • Expand your expectations.
  • Because if everyone is thinking the same thing then someone isn’t thinking.
  • Because if you change your mind, you change your life.
  • We all have adventures in missing the point.

“Let us be willing to die to the lesser in order to become transformed into the greater.”

Resurrection vs Transformation. Something different vs the same something only revived. Sort of like...Poof!

Changing our minds, habits, actions requires that we realize the lesser and put it “down”.

Lesser is not necessarily bad, just an impediment to greater. It’s where we miss the point.

What is it that keeps us from transforming?

MY BACK PAGES-BOB DYLAN-Recorded in 1964. 1992 Concert for Dylan featuring Neil Young, Eric Clapton, George Harrison, Tom Petty, and Roger McGuinn(Byrds). Harrison is singing the last verse. View the video here.

Ah, but I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now.

Yes, my guard stood hard when abstract threats,

  • How guarded are we over our truth, or our situation? Inflexible in our thinking.
  • Abstract. Get used to different. Link to The Chosen.

Too noble to neglect,

  • We hide behind “nobility”, righteousness, patriotism, dogma…

Deceived me into thinking

  • Deception is a key. Do we realize when this is happening? How do we protect against it?

I had something to protect,

  • What are we protecting?
  • Our comfort?
  • Our opinions?
  • Is that keeping us from transforming?

Good and bad, I define these terms,

  • Dualistic thinking. Black and white. No grey.
  • This is not how life works.

Quite clear, no doubt, somehow.

  • Our biases make it “clear”.
  • We can rationalize anything. Even to our detriment.

Ah, but I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now.

In a word, I was transformed…
